Timelapse of a tiger lily’s decay, photographed from July 11 to July 25 of 2021.
The resulting six images were each created using a photo-stacking technique, which utilizes dozens of photographs with different focal points to create a single, hyper-focused final image.
Each image was then printed on newsprint and placed in direct sunlight to weather proportionally to its stage in the decay process.
The work presented here was originally part of a larger solo exhibition entitled, "Mom, It's For You."

Artist Statement:
Transposing Forms

Tiger lily, tiger lily
Wild and free in dappled rays
I took you home to live with me
And there, noticed your feminine ways

You brought the sparkling sunshine indoors
Infusing brilliance into the mundane
Simultaneously effervescent and effortless
Though your gift was not without pain

Tiger lily, with your quiet spirit
This cold home you warmed
Your true beauty was never lost
It simply transposed forms
